UPM PRI Accelerates Government Projects, Showcases Strengths in Three Areas, Secures Ongoing Government Contracts in the First Half of 2024
United Project Management Co., Ltd. (UPM), part of Primo Service Solutions (PRI), is advancing its business by aggressively pursuing government projects. In the first half of 2024, the company secured six projects in construction management and consulting, with plans to bid for additional work worth no less than 25 million baht. UPM highlights its strengths in three areas: "registration as a construction management consultant with the Ministry of Finance, ISO certification in three systems, and membership in three major construction associations." This expansion aims to enhance project management and comprehensive construction services for government projects, creating recurring income and building a backlog for continuous growth.
Associate Professor Dr. Arun Sirijanusorn, CEO of United Project Management Co., Ltd. (UPM), a comprehensive project management and construction management firm, revealed that the company has expanded its client base to participate in government project bids in construction management and consulting since early 2024. As a result, in the first half of the year, UPM secured six government projects. For the remainder of 2024, the company plans to continue bidding for government projects across all sectors, with a project value of no less than 25 million baht, and expects to win more government contracts as the year progresses.
The push to expand into government work and continue bidding is driven by the current trend of increased government investment in line with the government's policy to develop the country into "Thailand 4.0." UPM sees an opportunity to become a key provider of government projects, leveraging its strengths to expand into public sector work. The main factors contributing to UPM's selection include:
• Factor 1: UPM is now registered as a construction management consultant with the Ministry of Finance, which strengthens its ability to bid for construction management and consulting work across all government sectors.
• Factor 2: UPM has received ISO certification in three systems: ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management, and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety management for project management and construction services, ensuring international standards and efficiency.
• Factor 3: UPM is a member of three major associations related to construction management: the Association of Consulting Engineers of Thailand (ACET), the Engineering Institute of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (EIT), and the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage.
“The projects we have secured are diverse, including construction management and consulting for government projects such as office buildings, multi-purpose educational buildings, university libraries, and government center buildings. Additionally, the company has also been awarded a project to study the feasibility of developing commercial areas for public educational institutions. These construction projects are crucial for stimulating the economy and creating jobs within the country,” said Associate Professor Dr. Arun.
Furthermore, the CEO of UPM emphasized that in managing personnel for government projects, the company prioritizes bringing in experienced and skilled construction management personnel to oversee projects. There is a well-planned approach, effective monitoring, and the use of technology to address various challenges closely. With a professional team ready to meet every need, UPM ensures that all projects are executed with "value, quality, and timeliness."
UPM operates a comprehensive project management and construction management business, including UPM Design Studio, which provides architectural, structural engineering, and building systems engineering services; UPM Inspector, which offers home and condominium inspection services; UPM Monitoring & Laboratory, which provides environmental consulting and quality analysis; and UPM Academy, a training institute for real estate development and human resource and organizational development.
